My advice would be to see if it works for you and dont try to fix it if it doesnt. When it works, Pinnacle Studio has one of the best user interfaces and workflow from capture to DVD (. It is however fun to play with and some Here swear by it the easiest that comes to mind is Nero Vision. It is limited in its output options and the only route to make a DVD off it is to capture and output as DV AVI then use a DVD authoring program to make a DVD. Even if you get them free they also have a time and effort cost related to learning how to use them If you are up for a challenge and can afford them or thier like. I would advise against spending a lot of money on full Adobe Premiere and Vegas6 if your needs are not yet "Prosumer". Im of course by no means an expert but realise from being very weary of using/"test driving" all those packages ( and mastering none ) that thier similarities are more than differences):Still it is true that some are better made than others. I have used full Adobe Premiere pro 1.5 in the past so I have a little exposure ( also "tested" Ulead VideoStudio 8/9, Canopus Lets Edit etc) but no "mastery". I have on various systems, Adobe Premiere Elements2, Sony Vegas Movie Studio+DVD Platinum as budget editors as well as variuos "less" budget ones Avid Liquid 7.1 ,Pinnacle Liquid Edition 6.1 & and the full Sony Vegas 6. I dont have any problems with it and I know Im not alone. It is now owned by Avid and one is hoping thier efforts will help reverse its unfortunate reputation.Saying that, I currently have the full Studio 9.4 and 10.5 plus ( via upgrade from 10). Pinnacle has had its fair share of problems with Studio.
